An online dungeon crawler with a TPP camera, similar in some ways to Dark and Darker. In Dungeon Stalkers we play as titular adventurers, heading into dungeons with the idea to collect the best loot and to escape. We must watch out for our competitors, as well as for monsters and deadly curses.
After the success achieved by the game Dark and Darker, it was only a matter of time before its imitators started to appear. Similar dungeon crawler games include projects such as Greed is Good and Dungeon Stalkers from the South Korean studio Oneuniverse has also joined this group.
In Dungeon Stalkers the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).
We play as the titular stalkers in the game and they venture into procedurally generated dungeons full of dangers. They must face the dangers lurking for them, confront other adventurers, gather loot, and try to safely leave the dungeon before they fall victim to the curse of the witch haunting that place.
The game provides us with characters that vary in terms of classes, and consequently - preferred weapons, skills and fighting styles. The list includes Knight Hilda, Hunter Uruda, Sorceress Neve, Rogue Rio, Warrior Baran, Cleric Clad, and Enchantress Rene.
After a successful escape from the dungeon, we use the acquired loot for the development of the protagonists, thanks to which they can face increasingly greater challenges over time.
When exploring the dungeons we encounter both enemies controlled by artificial intelligence and other adventurers, embodied by other players. Fights with them are dynamic. It's not so much our agility that counts, but tactical sense and cunning.
This last one is also useful for eliminating enemies without engaging in open duels. The game allows us to destroy light sources and lurk in the shadows, eliminating opponents by surprise.
When it comes to a direct confrontation, the key role is played by the armor destruction mechanics - its loss makes even the strongest opponent exceptionally vulnerable to attacks.
The aforementioned curse, which manifests itself from time to time, affects the course of the game in various (usually unpredictable) ways. For example, it can cut off the escape route or summon waves of monsters.
Dungeon Stalkers only supports multiplayer mode, played in the PvEvP format. This means that during the game we face both enemies controlled by AI and heroes controlled by other players.
