The search for a lost console video game, which no one remembers anymore, is a grateful topic for an adventure game. The independent developer Digital Tchotchkes, who is behind the production of Elation for the Wonder Box 6000, started with such an idea.

Gameplay

In Elation for the Wonder Box 6000, we watch the action from the first-person perspective (FPP).

We end up in a gloomy, gray world reminiscent of industrial cities in Eastern Europe. During the game, we take on the role of a character suffering from anhedonia, from which she can only be rescued by the titular game from her childhood. That game is Elation, designed for the fictional Wonder Box 6000 console. The matter is complicated by the fact that no one remembers it today, so searching for its copies proves to be extremely difficult.

We travel across the open-structured map and meet unique individuals inhabiting the city. The characters we encounter can not only be asked about Elation, but we can also talk to them about politics or philosophy. Moreover, exploration involves the need to solve puzzles. However, when we get stuck at a dead end, we can rely on the help of one of the independent characters and her divination from wrinkled fruit peels.
