Fisherman's Tale is an unusual adventure game, prepared with virtual reality technology in mind (it supports HTC Vive goggles, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Windows Mixed Reality). The mechanics and history of this production refer to the so-called recursion - a situation in which a thing (e.g. a definition in logic) refers to itself. Vertigo Games, Interspace VR and ARTE are responsible for creating this title.
The player takes on the role of Bob, a fisherman's puppet who leads a lonely "life" in his colourful house. Bob has no idea what is going on outside his home, but when the radio starts broadcasting a storm alarm, he goes to the top of the lighthouse to turn on the light. However, something completely unexpected awaits him outside....
The action in Fisherman's Tale is observed from the eyes of the protagonist. Our task is to explore the three-dimensional environment and gradually discover its secrets. Playing usually involves interacting with various objects and solving logical puzzles, which often require breaking various laws of physics. The world of this production has been designed very interestingly and is characterized by a high level of complexity (e.g. one object can be located inside another).
In Fisherman's Tale we can only play alone.
Fisherman's Tale has a really nice three-dimensional graphics, which makes an even better impression thanks to the use of virtual reality goggles. The artistic style of this production is not strong on realism. Instead, we get a slightly simplified, but extremely colourful graphic design, stylized as an animated film.
