A platform action game, in which you play as the eponymous flat heroes and have to complete over 300 levels. Apart from the campaign mode, the game also features special challenges, as well as a multiplayer mode for up to 3 players.
Flat Heroes is a platform action game by indie studio Parallel Circles. It was published by Deck13 Interactive, the co-authors of Lords of the Fallen (co-produced with Polish studio CI Games) and the creators of The Surge.
Flat Heroes utilizes a side-view perspective. You play as the eponymous heroes, which are squares fighting for survival in over 300 levels, all of them designed by hand. You control the protagonists with simple moves (run, jump, dodge, and attack), and the gameplay involves jumping on platforms, avoiding traps and enemies' attacks, as well as eliminating the opponents (including 10 powerful boss enemies). It's worth noting that the game features a high difficulty level.
The default Flat Heroes game mode is the campaign; apart from that, the game also features special challenges. The production allows you to play on your own or with up to two other players in a co-op or PvP mode.
Flat Heroes features minimalist 2D visuals based on simple geometrical shapes, and a dynamic soundtrack.

Seafoam Gaming: 6 / 10 by Connor Nichols
Still, shameful delay on my end or not, this isn’t a bad game, and while it doesn’t do much special, it does end up being a enjoyable enough timekiller, and if you have a Steam Deck, this ain’t a bad way to pass the time on the go.
Nintendo Life: 8 / 10 by Dom Reseigh-Lincoln
Mixing the shapely looks of Thomas Was Alone with the speed of 10 Second Run Returns and the brutal difficulty of Super Meat Boy, Flat Heroes fits the Nintendo Switch like a glove. If you're playing solo you've got a solid (and lengthy) Campaign as well as bot support for its mini-games, but it's the electric excitement of the game's local multiplayer mode where Flat Heroes right-angled, platforming madness makes the biggest impact. Don't be a square - get this in your digital collection right now.

If you’re on the search for a new eShop purchase then I cannot recommend Flat Heroes enough. An absolute must for fans of the genre.
