GeoGuessr is an educational game dedicated to the topic of geography. It was developed in 2013 by a Swedish IT consultant - Anton Wallen. Over time, this initially free title switched to a subscription model, offering additional features for a fee.

Gameplay

GeoGuessr uses resources from Google Street View. During the game, we are transported to a random location in the world, and our task is to guess our location before time runs out.

To accomplish this, we need to rely on all available information and clues. We can determine our location based on various factors such as architecture, road signs, the language used on the signs we see, the position of the sun or local flora.

Depending on the selected mode, the game allows us to freely move around locations, as well as look around the environment and zoom in. Some modes have these capabilities disabled, which significantly increases the difficulty level.
