During the game in Geostorm we play the three heroes, whose task is to obtain information about natural disasters that take place all over the world. The game, during which the action is shown in an isometric projection, consists in traversing the location and solving riddles.

Geostorm is a logic game developed by Sticky Studios. The title is based on license of the action film under the same title.

Story

The story told in Geostorm is modelled on the plot of the original film. When a network of Earth's weather control satellites falls victim to sabotage, natural disasters on an unprecedented scale start occurring around the globe. In the course of the game we play the role of three members of the Dutch Boy project, whose task is to collect information about these natural disasters and save the day before it is too late.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Geostorm is based on the formula presented in games from under the GO series (such as Lara Croft GO or Deus Ex GO). The game takes place in turns, and the characters we control, which we observe in isometric view, move around the square fields covering individual locations.

In the course of the game we deal with solving environmental puzzles, which consist of moving objects, manipulating switches, or cleaning passages from objects that block them. However, things are is complicated by the fact that all of this is accompanied by the aforementioned violent weather events, such as the electric storm in Orlando, the devastating tsunami in Dubai or the murderous cold in Afghanistan.

Technical aspects

Three-dimensional visuals of Geostorm present a decent level of quality - this applies especially to the mobile version. Interestingly, although on smartphones and tablets the title is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions, on PCs it is available as a paid game.
