Release Date: May 19, 2015
A free-to-play strategy with tower defense elements taking place in an asynchronous turn-based system. In the game we take command over our own military base and army of soldiers, and our task is to find and destroy the enemy base in order to occupy new areas. During combat we can support our soldiers with mines, bombardments, mortars, smokescreens and combat gases.
Guns Up! is a free-to-play strategy game with tower defense elements, prepared for PC, PS4, etc. The title is the first independent project of Valkyrie Entertainment, which so far has mainly worked on the graphic design for such developers as Riot Games, Turn 10 or Sucker Punch.
In Guns Up!, we play as an army general, and our task is to manage resources and send soldiers to fight the enemy and occupy new areas. During the game, we have no direct control over individual units, and controlling the army is limited to giving orders to individual companies. Our soldiers participate in a battle, and we can only support them with a variety of means, such as mines, bombardments, mortars, smoke-screening, and combat gases. During offensive actions, boiling down to finding and destroying the enemy's quarters, we must not forget about the defense. Expansion and defense of our base is equally important.
The game takes place in an asynchronous turn-based system, dedicated both to multiplayer, as well as single-player battles with artificial intelligence. The authors have prepared many single-player challenges, thanks to which we will be able to test various attack tactics and durability of our base. Completing the next tasks gives us experience thanks to which we can improve the equipment of our troops and get better structures for the base. In addition to the typical PvP, we can also join forces with other players, form alliances and conquer more territories together.
The graphics of Guns Up! were prepared in a typical comic style, characterized by expressive contours of models and characters. The battles have spectacular explosions and special effects. It's worth noting that Guns Up! allows free cross-platform gameplay for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita owners.

Game Ratings for Guns Up! Video Game.
Attack of the Fanboy: 3.5 / 5 by Mike Guarino
If you're into base defense/base invasion games then you should give Valkyrie Entertainment's Guns Up! a shot. The game's free-to-play model is fair and there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back for more and more action-packed warfare, as long as you pace yourself.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Aran Suddi
Guns Up! is a fun game in short bursts. The setting up of soldiers and perks before an assault is easy to understand and do, with the action never being too long to get to. It looks and sounds decent too, but Guns Up! doesn't quite meet its full potential. There needs to be more options available for when selecting which base to attack, also boredom due to repetition sinks in over longer play sessions. Guns Up! is a free to play title and there is no harm in checking it out though. It is one of those games that you can have a quick session on, and with that in mind Guns Up! is worth a go.
Game Revolution: 3 / 5 by Jeb Haught
I find it ironic that the PS Vita version of Guns Up! was canceled because that's the ideal platform for this military title. It's a fun game for short bursts, but there's nothing here that will make anyone long to play it, or even think of it for that matter, when they're not home. Hopefully, the developers will add more content to increase the variety and keep it interesting.
