A real-time strategy, serving as a spin-off of the popular Homeworld series and designed with VR headsets in mind. Homeworld: Vast Reaches allows us to command our own fleet. We can see it from various angles and issue commands. The game offers a story campaign and special challenges.
The Homeworld series of real-time strategies (RTS) set in space was started in 1999. Over the years has seen not only main installments but also spin-off productions. Among the latter is Homeworld: Vast Reaches developed by FarBridge studio. This game was created with virtual reality (VR) sets in mind.
In Homeworld: Vast Reaches the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP).
We take on the role of a fleet commander. Our task is to control spaceships in real-time during battles fought in interplanetary space. The course of skirmishes is observed up close, and individual missions include both offensive actions and defense against enemy attacks, as well as capturing resources and strategically important locations.
The key to success is not only having the largest and most advanced fleet possible, but also properly positioning units on the battlefield. The game offers a range of formations that can be tailored to individual tactics.
The action of Homeworld: Vast Reaches is set between the events of the first and second parts of the series. The main character of the game is Tyrra Soban, the new fleet commander. Accompanied by the legendary Karan S’jet, she must stand on the bridge of the Kushan mothership and face the threat from aggressive traders known as the Radaa, who aim to steal the hyperdrive core from her ship.
The pillar of Homeworld: Vast Reaches is the story campaign. In addition, there are challenges awaiting evaluation that will test our tactical and strategic skills.

A series of space-based real-time strategies, set in a universe designed by two American science fiction writers - Arinn Dembo (under the pseudonym Marcus Skyler) and David J. Williams. Initially, the series was developed by Canadian studio Relic Entertainment (also known for such titles as Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War or Company of Heroes), working for the publisher Sierra Entertainment. In 2013, the rights to the brand were acquired by Gearbox Software, which in subsequent years decided to prepare remasters of the first two parts of the series, as well as to share the license with Blackbird Interactive studio, founded by part of the team responsible for the first installments of the series.
