Hot Wheels toys often appear in racing video games, such as in the dedicated expansions for Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Horizon 5, or the Hot Wheels Unleashed series by Milestone. The license of this brand is also used by creators of budget projects, such as GameMill Entertainment, which released Hot Wheels Let's Race: Ultimate Speed described here. It is an adaptation of the Netflix animated series for children.

The game was developed by Bamtang Games, a studio with several similar titles under its belt, including the Nickelodeon Kart Racers series (also published by GameMill).

Gameplay

Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed features an arcade-style driving model, emphasizing controlled drifts on winding tracks filled with ramps, barrels, and obstacles to avoid. The competition is spiced up with collectible power-ups used to hinder opponents, such as spilling slippery oil under their wheels.

In addition to races, there are also boss battles, which are special arcade challenges. The game includes famous Hot Wheels die-cast cars like Roger Dodger, Super Twin Mill, and GT-Scorcher. We drive these cars by taking on the roles of characters from the animated series.

Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed offers five modes:

Racing Camp,
Cup Champ,
Speed Trials,
Track Builder,
Free Races.

As we make progress in the campaign, we collect badges. In exchange for them, we unlock vehicles, stickers for customizing Hot Wheels, and elements to construct our own tracks in Track Builder mode.

In addition to singleplayer gameplay, Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed also allows for split-screen racing for up to four players.
