Warkus is an independent developer. His first commercial project is House of Necrosis described here. It is a unique genre hybrid, combining elements of classic survival horrors with mechanics characteristic of dungeon crawlers and roguelikes.

Gameplay

In House of Necrosis we watch the action from a bird's eye view.

Turn-based combat and exploration

The pillar of the game is exploring corridors, rooms and underground of the titular residence. The game is played in a turn-based mode, during which we visit locations, fight enemies, and search for useful equipment (primarily keys that open passages to new areas).

We encounter living corpses and other creatures on our path, which we eliminate using melee weapons or firearms. As we progress, we develop the main character and acquire increasingly powerful weapons and upgrades for the weapons we already have, allowing us to face greater challenges over time. However, the matter is complicated by the fact that the residence's corridors and the layout of the rooms change with each visit, making each playthrough slightly different from the previous one.

Hub

Between subsequent trips we return to the main hall of the residence, which serves as a hub. We can move around it in real-time.
