Hungry Shark World is the sixth installment of a popular series of action games, supervised by Ubisoft. The title, developed by Future Games of London, made its launch on mobile devices, and later it was also released on consoles.

Mechanics

In Hungry Shark World we observe the action from the side. As the title suggests, during the game we play as a shark. Our main goal is to be at the top of the food chain, which we can achieve by eating or eliminating any opponents that stand in our way, be they smaller or larger marine creatures, or even submarines.

The devs provide us with several sharks diversified in terms of size and combat capabilities, including the hammerhead and the iconic great white shark. As we take control of one of the predators, we travel through open locations scattered around the world - from the picturesque Pacific Ocean, through the ice-bound Arctic Ocean and the bustling Arabian Sea, to the South China Sea. In the course of the game we take part in various missions such as hunting for selected victim, boss battles or even beating point records.

As we progress, we not only develop our sharks (increasing their attack power or speed) but also unlock original accessories for them (like headphones, umbrellas or even a laser gun) and useful helpers (such as sea turtles and octopuses).

Technical aspects

Hungry Shark World features visuals made in the 2.5D technique, which looks good especially on small screens of smartphones and tablets. While on mobile devices the title is distributed in a free-to-play model, on consoles it is available as a paid title.
