inFamous: Second Son Expansion Pack
Release Date: August 26, 2014
A stand-alone expansion to the third installment of inFamous, a popular series that began in 2009, known as one of the famed exclusives for the new generations of PlayStation consoles. First Light, as well as all other titles in the series, was developed by Sucker Punch, a studio known from a series of games starring Sly Cooper, an adventurous raccoon.
inFamous: First Light for PS4 is a stand-alone expansion for inFamous: Second Son, developed by Sucker Punch. It’s the second stand-alone expansion for a title from inFamous series – in 2011, players received inFamous: Festival of Blood, released for PlayStation 3. Similarly to the by-mentioned title, First Light offers a completely new story, area, and powers. Sucker Punch wanted to create an add-on that will sate the fans of the core game, and is accessible for newcomers at the same time.
This time, we assume control over Abigail “Fetch” Walker, known from InFamous: Second Son. The expansion is a prequel, and shows numerous events that had an influence over the base version, allowing the players to see the universe from a different perspective. We begin our adventure in Curdun Cay, a special prison for people with supernatural abilities. With some difficulties, the heroine manages to escape from the prison, and plans revenge on people that had thrown her behind bars. The developers made sure the nature of her neon powers is different than the ones used by Delsin through introducing completely new moves and a dedicated ability tree.
As the game progresses, Abigail escapes the prison and returns to Seattle. The old hub contains new areas, including the neighborhood of Cardun Cay prison. We are treated with a new season – the city is covered in snow, with extra weather conditions coming along with it.

Game Ratings for inFamous: First Light Video Game.
God is a Geek: 8 / 10 by Adam Cook
It feels odd to say it, but I actually prefer First Light to Second Son. The shorter run-time and more direct story could have reduced the feeling of freedom, but instead it benefits almost every area of the game. As a standalone product, its low price and superb gameplay means that it's definitely recommended.
Digital Trends: 3 / 5 by Adam Rosenberg
Infamous: First Light is all gameplay no heart. The action that made Second Son feel so tight is back, but it lacks the earlier game's excellent story and design.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Blair Inglis
Whether you're new to inFamous or not, First Light is definitely worth looking into. The only reason you won't enjoy this is if you didn't get on with Second Son at all, and although there are some improvements, there's not enough difference here to convince those who dislike inFamous. The plot may fall flat at points and there might be a sense of repetition, but a return trip to Seattle isn't something you should turn down. And if you have never visited before, then what are you waiting for?
