Those who survived found shelter in Ark 13 – the last spaceship left – and travel through the universe in search of a new home.
Into the Stars for PC is a space survival simulation set in an open-world. The game is developed by the debuting Fugitive Games studio composed of four experienced creators who have worked on such series as Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Lost Planet. The title was finished thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The action takes place in the distant future in which people are forced to leave the Earth beset by invaders. The last refugees of human race found shelter in a spaceship called Ark 13, in which they travel through the Universe in order to find a new home.
You assume the role of the ship’s captain and your job is to recruit crewmembers, develop units, gather resources, and establish diplomatic relations with alien races. Yet, not all of them are friendly, so be ready for combat. At the beginning of the game you need to make decisions concerning such aspects as choice of additional spaceship modules, the quantity and nature of resources kept in the vessel’s magazine, or the choice of crewmembers that will accompany you during travels. During your journeys through star systems filled with celestial objects and asteroids, you have to closely monitor all of the spaceship’s systems and the condition of the crew and passengers. To scavenge resources you will visit a wide range of dangerous plants and abandoned ships. The game offers trading with other species and fighting the enemies eager to destroy your vessel. For the most part you observe the action from the third-person perspective, but sometimes you take the action to the ship’s bridge, from which you control the spaceship and give orders to the crew.
Mechanics in Into the Stars for PC are inspired by such titles as FTL: Faster Than Light, The Oregon Trail, or Out There. The plot includes many references to the popular SF series Battlestar Galactica. The production features a high level of visuals that bear a slight resemblance to those in Mass Effect series. Jack Wall, who worked on the Mass Effect series as well, composed the soundtrack for Into the Stars.

Game Ratings for Into the Stars Video Game.
GamingTrend: 65 / 100 by Victor Grunn
Into the Stars is a creative and unique game which nevertheless manages to disappoint. The combination of complicated gameplay with a distinct lack of direction means that only the truly determined will likely get far with the title – but it just isn’t interesting enough to warrant the investment from most.
TechRaptor: 4.5 / 10 by Robert Grosso
A bland game from the get go, Into the Stars has high production values and a great soundtrack, but it's mired in mediocrity thanks to its gameplay.
ActionTrip: 7.8 / 10 by Keri Honea
Fugitive Games has created a unique twist for typical space strategy games, and what they have will appeal to many looking for something that isn’t Elite Dangerous or a typical real-time strategy game set in space. While it could use a bit of polish, Into the Stars could be the next massively popular title where your ineptitude can kill off your family. Or in this particular case, the remnants of the human race. No pressure at all; just be thankful you won’t die of dysentery.
