A puzzle adventure game with a focus on story and switching between characters, made in the style of the famous classic The Lost Vikings. Kejora takes us to a village trapped in a time loop. Three children embark on a perilous journey into the surrounding forest, trying to discover the cause of the problem.

Inspired by Southeast Asian folklore and characterized by traditional frame-by-frame animation, the independent game Kejora has undergone a series of transformations, including genre changes. This has all happened since its first announcement in 2021. Ultimately, Indonesian studio Berangin Creative decided on a heavily narrative-driven adventure title with puzzle elements. Its side-scrolling gameplay is reminiscent of The Lost Vikings.

Gameplay

In Kejora we control three child characters, switching between them to utilize their unique abilities. Jaka can move heavy objects and use a slingshot, while Guntur destroys obstacles with martial arts-like strikes and helps Kejora climb high walls. The titular girl combines her friends' skills with her own actions to solve environmental puzzles.

The game includes platforming elements and collecting items (with the protagonist able to carry only one object at a time). Upon reaching the forest, we encounter fantasy creatures from which we must hide using simple stealth mechanics. We can also set traps.

The story unfolds through reading dialogues in comic-style speech bubbles and watching cutscenes.

Story

When a girl named Kejora realizes that her peaceful village is experiencing the same day repeatedly, she sets out with two friends to uncover the cause of this enigma. In the forest, the children encounter equally mysterious creatures.
