Killzone 2 is a sequel to the first-person shooter, Killzone, which allowed PlayStation 2 console to challenge the Halo series, which was an Xbox exclusive at the time. The sequel was released on the next generation platform and due to that the technology employed in the game was greatly improved. The changes in the visual aspect of the game are instantly noticeable.
Story
The story shows the events that started two years after the conclusion of the first game in the series. This time the player is not defending himself from Helghast, but he is attacking their home world instead. The objective is to capture the leader of the monsters, Emperor Visari. The main character is an ISA soldier – Sev. The mission starts in Pyrrhus City, the very center of the conflict.
Gameplay
In order to make the game more enjoyable, the developers added destructible environment. The number of weapon types was increased in comparison to the first installment. New vehicles can be found as well, making defeating crowds of Helghast easier. Both our enemies and allies on the battlefield are controlled by a refined artificial intelligence.
Technology
Killzone 2 for PS3 introduces changing weather conditions which, in addition to improving the visual experience, increase the number of factors to be taken into account when choosing the right tactics. In addition, the game supports 1080p resolution and features immersive audio design. If the player has an adequate sound system, the sound can be emitted in 7.1 standard.
