The game provides a continuation to one of the most popular mobile tower defense strategies, which was created by Ironhide. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is based on the gameplay formula of its predecessor. The player's task here is to defend the kingdom against various fantasy creatures. In order to do that, the player builds different defensive structures on their path, sends military units to fight them, but also uses many different spells.

Kingdom Rush Frontiers for PC, WWW and etc. brings a continuation to one of the most popular mobile strategy games (tower defense), which debuted back in 2011. Kingdom Rush Frontiers was created by Ironhide – the Urugwayan developers who also stand behind production of the original game.

Mechanics

The second installment does not bring any changes to the gameplay formula of the original game, thus the player's goal here is to defend their kingdom against different creatures associated with fantasy worlds. In order to stop the attackers, the player builds different defensive structures on their path, sends military units to fight them, but also uses many different spells.

In a completely new story campaign, the player has to make their way through treacherous deserts and forests in order to reach the mountains, where the final boss fight begins. When creating this second installment, the developer's aim was to deliver the players with an experience similar to what the original game had to offer, though making it more enjoyable at the same time. As a result, the players were given a set of new characters, improvements and units. Among those, one can find mainly assassins, templars, necromancers and machines capable of causing earthquakes.

Also, new enemy types were introduced, such as sand worms, shamans or primitive tribes - those are typical for the new locations the player visits in the game. Each of the characters has their own, unique abilities, and those can be developed in different ways, thus different play-styles are applicable here. Watchtowers can be upgraded as well - both upwards and downwards.

Technical aspects

Kingdom Rush Frontiers for PC, WWW and etc. offers cartoonish visuals inspired by classic fantasy worlds based on the medieval period, following the pattern of the original game. In order for both experienced players and beginners to be able to enjoy the game, the creators implemented three difficulty levels and a special encyclopedia. The latter is a good source of information concerning particular units and enemy types.
