Release Date: May 26, 2015
A continuation to the humorous fantasy action RPG from 2011. The production was made by the Swedish studio Pieces Interactive, which previously worked on one of the add-ons to the prequel. The action is set in the world of Midgard, in which almost all wizards were killed during a great war. The survivors are a motley crew of crazy and somewhat quirky characters who must join forces to fight another epic battle against evil.
Magicka 2 is the sequel to the hack-and-slash game from 2011, praised for its rich and unique humor. Pieces Interactive, the developer of Magicka 2, is also known for developing such titles as: Magicka: Dungeons & Gargoyles, Leviathan: Warships and Puzzlegeddon. The action of Magicka 2 takes place in the world of Midgard. Most of the mages in Midgard were killed or lost during a great war. Those who survived not only fell into madness but also became very aggressive towards everyone and everything around them. The player must now command this, less then friendly, rabble and once more wage an epic battle against evil. Just like in the first game, this journey will also be full of humor.
As one of the magi, you have a very unique system for creating spells. To cast a spell, you need to combine different elements. Every element will add a specific effect to your enchantment, which allows the player to experiment with different combinations. Magicka 2 promotes replaying the chapters by using artifacts and modifications acquired later on in the journey, as they change the way the levels are meant to be played, either by making them more difficult or just giving them a fun theme or gimmick.
Magicka 2 is focused on the co-op mode. You have to cooperate with the other players to achieve success and progress in the game, but you also need to be careful as you could, unintentionally of course, wound or even kill your fellow mages. The co-op mode is available for every game mode in Magicka 2.

Game Ratings for Magicka 2 Video Game.
TheSixthAxis: 6 / 10 by Jim Hargreaves
Although it hits the marks in several key areas, there's no shying away from the fact that Magicka 2 can feel monotonous in parts. This may be eradicated (in part) when playing with friends locally or online, but not everyone will have that same privilege. There's an overriding focus here on combat that could have been invested in other, more interesting pursuits such as puzzle solving or even platfoming. Still, it's a competent action game that has made a beautiful transition from its original PC roots and one that will no doubt garner a new console-based coven.
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Matt Adcock
Magicka 2 makes a good transition to the PS4 – the controls map nicely to the controller and it all looks nice on a big television. It's an oddity in that it really shines when you have two or more players, but is much less fun when playing alone. Overall, there is much to commend in this magical blaster – just make sure that you bring a friend.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 7.5 / 10 by Tyler Treese
Pieces Interactive has done a very good job in continuing the Magicka series. While there have been some growing pains, Magicka 2 still manages to be an extraordinary cooperative game when played with the right people. If you have a group of friends that are tired of playing Borderlands and Helldivers, then make sure you give Magicka 2 a spin.
