An action RPG with roguelike traits, developed by independent studio One Bit Beyond. The game tells the story of brave characters trying to defeat the evil Mormo. The action in The Swords of Ditto is presented from an isometric perspective and the gameplay focuses on exploration and combat with encountered enemies.
The Swords of Ditto is an action RPG released on PC and PS4. The title was developed by independent studio One Bit Beyond, founded by Jonathan Biddle – an ex-designer from Curve Digital. The game was published by Devolver Digital (series like Shadow Warrior and Hotline Miami).
The game tells the story of a group of brave characters who are trying to defeat the evil Mormo. Achieving the goal isn’t easy as the enemy controls an army of various beasts. Many heroes will fall in combat, but their efforts will impact the fate of their successors.
The Swords of Ditto is a simple action RPG with roguelike features. The action is presented by using an isometric perspective and the main task of the player is to explore the world and to fight encountered enemies – skeletons with flaming heads, large cats and various other unusual opponents. The gameplay is action-based, but the combat system awards proper equipment choices. The protagonists can use various weapons, including classic swords and less conventional tools – for example, a magic golf club. During the game the player collects stickers that provide additional bonuses. For example, these stickers can increase the strength of the protagonist.
One of the more interesting features of The Swords of Ditto for PC and PS4 is the legacy left by the fallen warriors. Each adventure is different and previously defeated warriors can impact new playthroughs – for example, the player can find their equipment.
The Swords of Ditto was developed with singleplayer and local split-screen cooperation in mind.
Cartoon-like graphics are one of the characteristic traits of The Swords of Ditto. Although there are many games with hand-drawn graphics on the marked, the title created by One Bit Beyond features a unique style.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran of the action-adventure genre or you want to pick this game up for a child, I think anyone can have a good time in The Swords of Ditto. While I found some faults during my journey throughout Ditto, there's no doubt the developers have created a fully realized, albeit small, world. If you're looking for your next couch co-op game or something that's easy to jump into for an hour or two, give The Swords of Ditto a try.
Push Square: 8 / 10 by Robert Ramsey
The Swords of Ditto is a great little indie adventure, perfect for quick stints of surprisingly tense gameplay. Although some slight technical issues are a bit of a pain, they're not enough to detract from what is otherwise a delightfully charming experience. Tight and tidy, this is an addictive time sink that's well worth a look -- especially if you bring someone along for the ride.
