Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death, released on PC and X360, was developed by the Slovenian studio Zootfly, responsible for productions such as The Expendables 2, Prison Break: The Conspiracy and a few installments of the Panzer Elite series. The publisher of the title is 505 Games, which published the game only in digital distribution stores.
Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is a production filled with action and numerous platform elements, inspired by comics about superheroes or cult action films from the '80s and '90s of the last century. We play the role of the title character, who is not afraid of dangerous missions and often risks his life in the fight against enemy units armed to the teeth. Briggs is killed but turns out to be a secret warrior, being reborn again and receiving the powers of the ancient Mayan Death Mask waiting 2000 years for a suitable vessel.
Consumed by vengeance, Marlow fights with the Liberty troops as he crosses Central America. We fight against hostile enemies in locations such as factories, ancient ruins and exotic jungles, using weapons and firearms as well as special abilities. We get experience points by defeating enemies, allowing us to develop skills. The game draws on the ideas typical for hack'n'slash games.
The graphics were prepared in full 3D and look decent for a game released only on the digital distribution market. The game makes up for that with its effectiveness and continuous action, which does not give the player the room for rest even for a moment.
