Release Date: August 26, 2014
A special remastered edition of the two popular first-person shooters: Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, developed primarily with 8th-generation consoles in mind. The story of the Metro series revolves around a youngster named Artem and presents a post-apocalyptic vision of the world in which the humanity fights for survival after a nuclear apocalypse.
Metro Redux for PC, PS4 and XONE is a bundle release of two installments of the Metro series based on the Metro 2033 Universe, a grim post-apocalyptic vision of the future created by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The pack includes enhanced (especially in terms of graphics) editions that utilize the capabilities of the 8th-generation consoles: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Metro 2033 for PC, PS4 and XONE was initially released in 2010. Its action takes place mainly in the tunnels of the Moscow subway, that have become a shelter for the survivors of an atomic apocalypse. The main protagonist is a youngster called Artem, and the story is closely related to the novel of the same title, released in 2005. We explore the underground crannies, and fight frightening mutants or, alternatively, sneak around them. Although not flawless, the title was praised by the critics for its incredible atmosphere as well as some interesting solutions in terms of narration, and inventory.
The second game of the bundle is the 2013’s Metro: Last Light. We assume the role of Artem yet again, although this time around, we abandon the subway tunnels to explore the ruined areas on the surface. The developers at 4A Games took the criticism of the original game to their hearts, which resulted in the improved combat mechanics, more open locations, and the implementation of a multiplayer mode. Many critics called Metro: Last Light one of the best games of 2013.

Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light updated.
Metro GameCentral: 7 / 10 by David Jenkins
One of the best remasters so far makes surviving the Russian apocalypse more horrifying than ever, although none of the changes address the games' more fundamental issues.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 8 / 10 by Dan Oravasaari
Overall my time with Metro Redux was enjoyable. Metro 2033 does feel like it was the first attempt at creating something special, and it almost got there. Metro Last Light is easily the full realization of the story and is an overall more enjoyable experience. But, since both titles are included in this bundle, players will be able to get the full picture from beginning to end with enough content and replay value to be worth the asking price and then some.
