A simulation game about building a factory complex and engaging in industrial automation. Modulus allows us to design modules. We can use them to build factory facilities and fulfill orders placed by the Large Neural Network. The gameplay becomes gradually more complex as we progress, but there are no time limits in the game.

Production automation is a topic that enjoys considerable popularity among players. The Belgian studio Happy Volcano, known for titles such as The Almost Gone and You Suck at Parking, also decided to join the group of games based on this idea. The result was the simulation game described here called Modulus.

Gameplay

In Modulus our task is to automate the industry for the needs of orders fulfilled by the Large Neural Network. We view our factory complex in an isometric view and create production lines, trying to design them in such a way that they are as efficient as possible.

Modules

Of course, our factory is not only about conveyor belts, but also about various objects that we build using modules manufactured in our complex. The construction and development of individual structures are directly related to the number of components that we deliver to site. We design the modules ourselves.

Smooth factory development

As we progress, not only does our factory grow, but also the complexity of orders increases, and consequently, the modules needed to fulfill them. This means that over time we have to be more inventive. On the other hand, in Modulus we will not encounter any enemies or time constraints, so while supervising the work of our factory complex, we can relax and play at our own pace.
