Mechanics
Just like other games of the series, Monster Hunter: Frontier Z for PS4 takes the players to a fantasy world where they have to hunt down monsters. We begin with the creation of our character. There are a dozen or so available classes. Our choice determine’s their weapons and combat style. We can use cold steel and long-range (bows, firearms) weapons. The game’s real-time combat system heavily relies on players’ reflexes. The only way to gain advantage on the battlefield is to have more powerful equipment. We will also have to think of appropriate tactics for specific species of monsters. We can buy our equipment or craft it using the ingredients we gather during our adventures (pieces of monsters’ bodies, materials, etc.).
Unlike the classic installments of the series, Monster Hunter: Frontier Z focuses on cooperation of multiple players and requires a monthly subscription.
Technical Aspects
Monster Hunter: Frontier Z for PS4 is based on the technology created for the original version of the game, making its visuals decent at most.
