The second part of the action-adventure platform game series for VR. In Moss: Book 2 we once again take care of a mouse named Quill, who explores dangerous locations, solves puzzles and fights with enemies.
Moss: Book II is the second installment of the action-adventure platform game series, launched in 2018. The game was developed by the authors of the original, the Polyarc studio, and, like the original, was created for virtual reality sets.
The main character of the game Moss: Book II is again a mouse named Quill. The protagonist must face a sinister winged tyrant. Her arch-enemy has set himself on a hunt for her, turning the castle where he kept her uncle Argus into a real fortress filled with traps and other dangers. Quill must explore this dangerous fortress, make new friends and work with old allies.
In Moss: Book 2 we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). Just like in the first part of the series, we don't play as Quill, but as her guardian, who constantly follows her and takes care of her actions. This makes us physically present in the game world, which increases immersion. Using a blue bubble, which is a virtual representation of the controller, we can interact with the presented world.
During the game Quill wanders through various locations, among which we can find both castle halls and corridors as well as picturesque landscapes. While exploring them, the mouse jumps on platforms, solves uncomplicated environmental puzzles and faces enemies, including powerful bosses. The game allows us to look around the environment, which makes orientation easier, although it does not give us the ability to move the camera freely.
Compared to the original, this game stands out due to the new weapons (including a heavy hammer), a wider range of possibilities to interact with the environment, as well as ways of solving puzzles, discovering secrets and defeating adversaries absent in the first installment of the series.
The graphic design of Moss: Book II is kept in a relatively simple, but colorful and eye-pleasing style known from the first installment of the series.
