Munchkin is a card game created by Steve Jackson Games, in which we direct adventurers exploring the underground, collecting items and fighting against various fantastic beasts. Asmodee Digital is responsible for creating digital conversion.
Munchkin is a card game that is inspired by classic "paper" feature systems like Dungeons & Dragons. Each player has a character who starts his adventure on the first level. The game is about uncovering cards from a deck of doors and treasures. The first one contains challenges (monsters) that we try to meet, while the second one contains various types of items and improvements that allow us to strengthen our hero (but we can only carry one item of a given type - e.g. one weapon, one armor, etc.).
Monsters are defeated by comparing their level with the one that has our heros (it is also necessary to take into account modifications related to equipment). The waist also includes temporary reinforcement cards and character classes, which allow us to gain additional, lasting abilities. While playing, we accumulate experience points (we get them by destroying monsters), which allow us to advance to the next levels. The one who is the first to reach level 10 wins.
Players can cooperate with each other, but they can also make life difficult - for example, by playing various reinforcements for monsters encountered by their rivals.
In Munchkina we can only play with other players.
Like most digital board game adaptations, Munchkin has a fairly simple graphic design, which consists mainly of an interface and illustrated cards. Particularly noteworthy are the humorous, humorous and pictures made by the illustrator John Kovalic.
