My Work Is Not Yet Done is an exploration game with survival elements. This is the debut production of the independent studio Sutemi Productions. The project was led by a developer named Spencer Yan.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in a world that combines features of modern reality with fantastic elements. The player takes on the role of an inquisitor named Avery, who goes on a pilgrimage to a region known as Reach. Formerly, this place was supposed to become a new province of the Empire, but these efforts failed, and only ruins remained after the would-be colonizers.

The plot of the game takes up difficult issues such as loneliness, feeling of isolation, suicide or passing away.

Mechanics

The gameplay of My Work Is Not Yet Done focuses on exploration. The world has an open structure and consists of both procedurally generated sections and hand-made locations.

Despite the fantastic realities, the exploration was presented in a realistic way. The player must learn the real secrets of navigation and survival techniques in the wilderness. The gameplay is made more difficult by a dynamic weather system, simulating the changing conditions in the world of My Work Is Not Yet Done. During the game, our decisions and actions affect the physical and mental state of the heroine, this is reflected in the gameplay.

The game has a non-linear feature campaign. As we explore the world, we discover its secrets at our own pace and participate in dynamic events that depend on our choices and gameplay mechanics.

My Work Is Not Yet Done offers only single-player mode.

Technical assault

The audiovisual layer is one of the strong points of the game. My Work Is Not Yet Done has very unusual graphics, which Spencer Yan called "1-bit". The graphics is mostly black and white and full of large pixels. Simple images are enriched with numerous animations.

An interesting element is the interface. All its elements were made in the form of objects available to the heroine of the game.
