The visual novel adventure novel is the third installment of the Necopara series. The action takes place in a world inhabited by cats taking on a human figure. Players take on the role of the owner of the La Soleil confectionery, who takes care of six cats belonging to his family.
Nekopara Vol. 3 is a classic visual novel adventure game in which we play the role of the owner of a small patisserie. The game is produced by an independent Japanese studio NEKO WORKs. The production is a direct sequel to Nekopara Vol. 1 and Nekopara Vol.2, released in 2014 and 2016. Since the premiere of the first part, the NeKopara series has been slowly becoming more and more popular and has been a great success for this small developer. In 2017, a half-hour animated adaptation of the game, which was financed through the Kickstarter service, had its premiere.
The action of the game takes place in contemporary Japan. However, the country is inhabited by both people and cats, which at first glance resemble ordinary people. They are endowed with intelligence and the ability to communicate by speech. Nekopara Vol. 3 continues the story presented in the first two parts of the series. We play as Kashou Minadukiego, who runs a patisserie called La Soleil where he sells his own baked goods. Interests go very well with the help of his sister Shigure and six cats belonging to his family.
Nekopara Vol. 3 focuses on Minadouki's last two kittens, which didn't have the opportunity to shine in the two previous games of the series. We are talking about the extremely proud Maple and the impulsive Cinnamon. The adopted sisters have always been very close to each other. When Maple faces a problem that undermines her belief in being able to fulfill her dreams and ambitions, Cinnamon puts forward to help her, but she turns out to be powerless and has no idea how to do it. Kashou decides to do everything in his power to solve the dilemmas of both sisters.
Nekopara Vol. 3 is a classic visual novel adventure. The game is again limited to reading successive lines of text enriched with illustrations and animated portraits of characters. Players do not make any decisions affecting the further course of the story, and the whole game should take several hours.
Nekopara Vol. 3 offers high quality graphics. Noteworthy is the E-mote system, which is responsible for character animation. Thanks to its several technical tricks, the two-dimensional portraits of the characters are able to move smoothly and express various emotions. Also, all character dialogues have been dubbed by professional Japanese actors.
