NeuroVoider is a retro-style roguelike twin-stick shooter, enriched with RPG elements. The independent French studio Flying Oak Games is responsible for the creation of the title, and the publisher of the game on the PC platform, PSV, etc. is actively supporting the indie scene, Plug In Digital.
Set in the realm of science fiction, NeuroVoider's story begins when the world we know has just ceased to exist, and the army of soulless robots responsible for its annihilation begins celebrating victory. In the game we play one of the four remaining survivors, and our task is to show the machines that the attack on humanity was not the best idea.
The mechanics of the game NeuroVoider refers to classic shooting with a view from above, and the fun is focused on a dynamic action, full of crippling balls and spectacular explosions. Like most of this type of production, the player's goal is to break through waves of serial enemies and much more demanding bosses. In order to prevent monotony, all the fun takes place on procedurally generated levels, which provides unique gameplay with every approach to the game. In addition, the developers also created a unique system of generating opponents, which according to their information in the game can be found exactly 8736. The whole is enriched with RPG elements: from some of the destroyed opponents we can create a number of useful improvements and in the intervals between missions we can gradually develop our character, preparing it for the next clashes.
NeuroVoider was designed mainly for local cooperation games for up to four players. However, nothing stands in the way of eliminating hordes of robots on their own in the absence of those willing to play.
Released on a PC platform, PSV, etc. NeuroVoider refers to the classics of the genre not only because of the mechanics, but also the old-school, pixeled graphic design. The gameplay is accompanied by a soundtrack by the well-known French electro artist Dan Terminus.
