Released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, Nexomon Extinction combines the monster catching mechanics known from the Pokemon series with an interesting graphics and new storyline. The game is the second title in the Nexomon series, whose release and development is the responsibility of VeWO Interactive studio.

Plot

In ancient times, people and the Nexomons were mortal enemies. Under the leadership of the cruel monster king Omnicrone, colorful creatures have set out to destroy the human race. The people would have failed, but they were helped by daredevils who decided to outsmart the Nexomon ruler. Avoiding detection, they tamed some of the monsters to stand shoulder to shoulder with them and defeat Omnicron in the final battle. Thanks to the determination of the people it was possible to destroy the ruler of the Nexomons and thus start a long era of peace in the world. For many millennia, people and monsters lived in harmony, until a new threat emerged on the horizon, which we have to face.

Mechanics

In terms of gameplay, Nexomon Extinction does not differ from the previous version of the cycle. Guiding our protagonist, we explore the world, fulfill the tasks assigned to us by NPCs, and catch and train Nexomons. In addition to traveling through various locations, we will have the opportunity to face wild Nexomons as well as other trainers. The battle aspect was realized in the well known turn-based convention. During the skirmish we will be able to use many kinds of Nexomons, armed with different skills and using different fighting techniques.

In Nexomon Extinction the mechanics of catching the monsters that will form the backbone of our team play a huge role. Although at the beginning we will have relatively few of them, with time we will expand our collection with more and more powerful creatures. Travelling through the world we will be able to meet more than three hundred kinds of Nexomons, coming from eleven different elements. The system of their evolution and training implemented in the game will make them more powerful and impressive with time.

In every land, apart from the possibility to meet the related creatures, we will also find various items and bonuses that can significantly affect our progress in the game. In addition to the extra support, which we we can use when fighting an enemy, we will also find special extras to help our Nexomons evolve faster.

Game modes

Even though Nexomon Extinction only offers single player gameplay, there will be a lot of activity associated with training or collecting Nexomons. In addition, the feeling of playing in a multiplayer game will be provided by battles with NPCs, which we encounter during the game.

Technical aspects

Despite some similarities to the Pokemon series, the game has its own individual atmosphere, well-fitting soundtrack and graphic design.
