Plot

The story presented in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - The Tale of a Timeless Tome begins when Evan (the main character of the game) starts dreaming of a strange rabbit in a tuxedo - a character known from Ni no Kuni II: Wrath of the White Witch. The plot of the expansion throws new light on several characters and the history of the world.

Mechanics

Playing in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - The Tale of a Timeless Tome is about exploring the three-dimensional locations, chatting with characters, and completing subsequent tasks. There is no shortage of combat either. It is based on a real-time system, with the ability to control both the main character and his companions - including the new ones, i.e. the aforementioned mysterious rabbit.

In addition, the Martial Method mechnic, known from the first large DLC, returns to Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. It enables us to use a number of new skills and fully customize our fighting style to our preferences. The Tale of a Timeless Tome introduces two new development paths to this system - Wizard's Companion and Martha's Method.

Another novelty is the Solosseum Slog, the arena, which enables us to fight more and more difficult flights with many different types of opponents. The players receive rewards for their success, the value of which depends on the time in which they dealt with a given enemy.

Game modes

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - The Tale of a Timeless Tome can only be played solo. There are no multiplayer modes in the game - the mainstay of the game is the story campaign.

Technical aspects

No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - The Tale of a Timeless Tome does not introduce any changes to the visuals of the basic version of the game, but they are not needed - even without them the game looks very impressive. The visuals is completely three-dimensional but stylized to 2D thanks to the use of cel-shading technique. The manga-like style evokes associations with the animated productions of studio Ghibli.
