Nuclear Dawn 2 is a combination of first person shooter (FPS) and strategy mode (RTS), for which InterWave studio is responsible. The title was set in a postapocalyptic scenery offering the opportunity to play the role of a serial soldier or commander and take part in battles of up to 32 people.

The production is a continuation of the Nuclear Dawn released in 2011. The game takes us back to the times after World War III, when nuclear weapons were used on a massive scale, bringing the world to the brink of extinction. However, even in this tragic period, the struggle for power and the last remaining raw materials on Earth does not stop. There are two parties involved in the conflict - the Consortium and the Empire, each of which has an extensive arsenal of modern extermination tools at its disposal.

Nuclear Dawn 2 gameplay is primarily focused on multiplayer mode and can take part in it up to 32 players (16 for each side). Players take on the role of private soldiers and take part in first person battles (FPS) or in commanders who watch over their unit watching the bird's eye (RTS) skirmish. Each team may have only one commander.

As a soldier we can play one of the four classes prepared by the authors. The Exo is the heaviest of them, with a heavy machine gun and a hail of enemy missiles and buildings. Its weak point is the low speed of movement. Assault is a medium-armoured soldier with long-range weaponry and the ability to detect invisible enemies. Stealth is the lightest armoured class. However, its soldiers have the ability to become invisible, as well as being equipped with a sniper rifle and a white weapon for surprise attack. The last type of soldier is Support, supporting companions with first-aid kits, EMP grenades capable of neutralizing enemy vehicles or a flame thrower effective in fighting enemy infantry over short distances.

Playing the role of commander, our main task is to erect buildings and develop technologies supporting our soldiers on the battlefield. In addition, we can group subordinates into 6-person branches and assign them tasks for which they will receive experience points. Promotion to the next levels will not only advance to higher military levels consistent with the real ones, but will also unlock access to new weapons and abilities unique to each class.

The creators have prepared six maps set in different parts of the world. The skirmishes can be fought in New York, the Tokyo metro, the freezing Siberia and London, among others. The title uses the Source engine, offers all the features of the Steam Cloud platform (e.g. Steam Cloud) and includes the Software Development Kit which allows players to create new maps, among other things. Owners of PCs and Macintosh can take part in the game at the same time.
