Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy Description
Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy on PC and PSV is a proposal of the Japanese studio Experience Inc. addressed to lovers of dungeon crawlers in the Far East style of manga. The production was created as a development of ideas from Labyrinth Cross Blood: Infinity (also known as Meikyuuu Cross Blood: Infinity), with which it shares one universe.
Story
Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy takes place in modern Tokyo, which was attacked by hordes of monsters. The elite Exe Corps units, made up of young people with supernatural skills, are responsible for combating them. The player directs the actions of a six-person squad that traverses urban labyrinths hunting zombies, demons and other beasts that threaten people.
Mechanics
The game has been designed as a combination of jRPG and crawler dungeon elements. The essence of the game is to explore the vast labyrinths, where you can come across monsters, but also interesting items. Combat mechanics is based on the classic turn-based system. With the passage of time spent in dungeons, the algorithm of randomly generated meetings increases the likelihood of encounters with more difficult enemies, and thus gaining more valuable loot.
Technical issues
The developers of Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy tried to use the technical capabilities of the PC and PSV platforms. One of the interesting solutions implemented in the game is the ability to "leave traces" for friends who have not yet visited the dungeon.
Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy combines 2 and 3D graphics. In three dimensions are presented, among others, environment and fights. The silhouettes and elements of the user interface are made in 2D graphics stylized on manga.
