An RPG with an isometric view, partially inspired by Disco Elysium. Paradigm Island takes us to a surreal dystopian world of the near future. We can play as a novice mercenary and our choices during the game have the power to shape the reality around us.
The independent Finnish development studio End-all Entertainment from Helsinki began its operations with the challenging task of creating a game inspired by the cult Disco Elysium.
We're talking about an RPG titled Paradigm Island, which takes us to a surreal, dystopian world of the near future. The main character of the game is a novice mercenary. The protagonist gets entangled in a conflict during his first assignment, in which the boundaries between good and evil become blurred. Although it sounds quite serious, the game is seasoned with a dose of humor.
In Paradigm Island we watch the action in an isometric view. We are trying to accomplish the objectives set before us, exploring locations, engaging in conversations with NPCs, and also making choices.
Our decisions affect the further course of the adventure, shape the protagonist, and influence how he is perceived by the environment.
It depends on us whether we will gain the trust and respect of certain characters, or whether we will deceive and manipulate them for our own benefit. It should be remembered that sometimes the decisions we make can bring unforeseen effects.
When verbal arguments fail, we can resort to force. Our protagonist has abilities that also allow him to communicate with the spirit world.
The success or failure of our endeavors here is determined both by the roll of the dice and the level of development of skills reflecting our physical fitness, intuition, or logical thinking.
The graphic design of Paradigm Island is maintained in a style drawing inspirations from vintage comics.
