The demon invasion of Hammerfall brings an intervention from the Holy Falcon Empire, whose ruler wants to use it as a chance to instigate a rebellion and possess the arcane knowledge and abilities of the Hammerfall smiths.

The game is set in Albion, the realm known from the previous games, which got invaded by mysterious evil forces. Players can side with either good or evil.

The game consists in stealing a specific object or effectively protecting it.
