Pokemon Legends: Arceus Release Date Switch
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is an open-world action RPG that lets us see what the universe was like centuries before Ash Ketchum and Pikachu first met. The game was developed by Game Freak studio, which oversees the development of the main Pokemon series.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes us on a journey to the land of Hisui (later known as Sinnoh), known from the games Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl (and their remakes, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl). Unlike them, however, game takes us to the distant past, where Pokemons and humans do not yet live in symbiosis. During the game we play as the protagonist, who decides to discover the secrets of the island, create the first Pokedex for this region, and solve the mystery of the legendary Pokemon Arceus.
In Pokemon Legends: Arceus the action is shown from a third-person perspective (TPP). At the beginning of the game we have to choose one of three Pokemons, which will accompany us on the long journey. These are Rowlet, Cyndaquil or Oshawott.
As we travel around the island, we encounter a variety of wild Pokémon and observe their behaviour, learning their strengths and weaknesses. This knowledge comes in handy especially during battles, which despite being real-time, are not lacking tactical depth. After sending one of our creatures to fight, we must carefully observe the duel and give our protégé the appropriate commands. Pokemon Legends: Arceus also introduced a new agile and strong attack mechanic that adds even more strategic depth. After defeating an opponent, we can catch them, so they will fight on our side from then on. You can also capture Pokémon without fighting, provided that we manage to sneak up to the interesting specimen and make an effective throw with Poke Ball.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus features colourful, cartoon-like graphics, kept in a style bringing to mind The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game runs at 30 frames per second in both portable and docked modes.
