Quantum Error is a mix of FPS and survival horror. The game was developed by independent American studio TeamKill Media. We are talking about a team of four brothers who previously delivered a dark action game called Kings of Lorn: The Fall of Ebris.

Plot

Quantum Error action is taking place in the future. In the game world, people use special implants developed by Monad, which after being implanted in the nervous system turn them into cyborgs working on a kind of autopilot. When the headquarters of the corporation was attacked by an unknown enemy, two firefighters, Jacob Thomas and his partner, Shane Costa, were entrusted with the task of saving the survivors. On the spot, however, it turns out that something very bad has happened to the whole staff of the facility, which turns the mission into a real fight for survival.

Mechanics

In Quantum Error we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). We have to be constantly vigilant when we walk through the dark rooms of the facility. In the shadows hide the aggressive and more or less mutant people we face with firearms. Besides, during the game we have to look for clues that shed new light on the events that took place here. From time to time we also deal with solving environmental puzzles and overcoming field obstacles, for which we use the professional skills of the characters.

Technical aspects

Although Quantum Error is an intergenerational title, the game was developed primarily for the PlayStation 5 platform. On Sony's fifth console, the game uses, among other things, ray tracing and operates at 4K and 60 frames per second. Both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 feature an advanced engine that ensures that the vast majority of objects encountered along the way behave according to the laws of physics.
