Red Sails is an adventure game focused on exploration, where we travel through the desert, steering a sailing boat. A small independent Red Sails Team studio is responsible for the game.
The world has been taken up by the sand and where there used to be buildings, cities or raw materials necessary for survival, now there is only desert. We play the role of Sil, a member of the Red Sails clan, who embarks on a lonely journey to find information about the stay of her loved ones. However, the desert cannot be traversed on foot for too long, so Sil uses a sailboat that can take more than one person on board. This has its advantages, because on the road we meet other travelers who can give us information about our clan in exchange for help in getting to the destination.
Red Sails is a game in which we primarily explore the post-apocalyptic open world. First we have to learn how to steer a sailboat. During the journey with a changing daily and weather cycle we encounter the ruins of old buildings, remains of great animals, ancient monuments and various secrets. In addition, we meet the people that we take on board, learn about their history, help them make a decision that could have a decisive impact on some locations and help them get to their destination. In addition, every new acquaintance can bring us closer to finding members of our own clan, which is our main task.
Red Sails is a three-dimensional production observed from a third person perspective, bringing to mind another adventure game with similar themes: Journey.
