Release Date: September 27, 2011
A refreshed edition of the classic spin-off of the popular Resident Evil series, which was originally released in 2000 on the Dreamcast console, and then in a slightly enhanced version for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. In the game we direct the actions of siblings Claire and Chris Redfield, who try to escape from the Rockfort Island, which belongs to the Umbrella Corporation.
December 1998, 3 months after the destruction of Raccoon City: Claire Redfield narrowly escapes the clutches of the fallen city. But she is far from safety. Continuing her mission to find her older brother, S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield, Claire is captured by Umbrella Corporation and taken away to a top secret prison installation on Rockfort Island. Managing to escape, she soon realizes that the entire island has succumbed to a viral outbreak, filled with flesh-eating zombies and experimental Bio-Organic Weapons (BOWs). But little does she know that these will soon be the least of her worries; a mansion filled with Umbrella's dark secrets – and even greater threats – lay in wait.

Resident Evil is a series of Japanese survival horrors published by Capcom. Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara are mainly responsible for its creation. The series started on March 22, 1996, with the release of Resident Evil (also known as Biohazard) on the PlayStation console. It was during its marketing campaign that the term survival horror was coined. The prototype of the series is the game Sweet Home released in 1989, based on the film of the same name. Fujiwara himself was responsible for it, and many elements, such as QTE sequences or inventory management, were transferred to the Biohazard series. Since then, it has grown steadily, gaining more game installments, as well as movie, animation, comic book and novel adaptations.
In the October Games with Gold, subscribers can expect, among other things, a game from the Castlevania series and a Resident Evil title.
