Before the premiere of the film Ratatouille, rats were not commonly associated with candidates for head chefs. Following the path set by the Disney and Pixar film is the game Restaurats described here. We are dealing with a humorous, arcade-style "simulator" of a restaurant where we play as cooking rodents. The game was developed by the independent team toR Studio, known for projects like Boris the Rocket, Boxes Inc., and Black Baron.

Gameplay

In Restaurats the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Rat restaurant

The game takes us to a fantasy universe inspired by the Middle Ages and allows us to play as rats running a restaurant. Our guests include goblins, orcs, skeletons, as well as vampires, werewolves, and ghosts. Our main duties involve seating the guests at tables, taking their orders, preparing dishes based on various ingredients and recipes, and serving the finished meals.

Unconventional problems

As is often the case, we must act quickly. Additionally, from time to time, we have to deal with unruly guests (either kindly or by force, wielding a hard baguette), participate in special events, and even fight bosses. The gameplay is further diversified by roguelike elements, which ensure that each playthrough involves facing different challenges.

Development and rewards

The money earned can be allocated to purchasing new equipment for our restaurant, including tables, ovens, and cabinets. Additionally, there is a wheel of fortune that we can spin to secure various bonuses and rewards. Cards providing us with additional perks have also been implemented.
