Fast beat'em up enriched with elements borrowed from music games and roguelikes. In Rhythm Fighter, we're going right through various stages and, to the rhythm of techno music, we're eliminating the henchmen of the villain known as Commander Chaos trying to destroy the Earth.
Rhythm Fighter is a dynamic beat'em up enriched with elements taken from roguelike and rhythm games. The game was developed by an independent team of echo games and published by Coconut Island Games.
Earth was attacked by a villain from the planet Beatara known as Commander Chaos. Using the dark Beat Energy, antagonist has turned all the vegetables into his bloodthirsty servants who not only sow destruction across the blue globe, but also lay the corpse of every animal hero trying to confront them. Fortunately, there was another newcomer from Beatara on Earth, Mr. Disco; he intends to stop his arch-enemy and bring the local heroes back to life.
In Rhythm Fighter, we watch the action from the side. During the game, we go right through various stages and eliminate hordes of enemies, among which we can find both cannon fodder and powerful bosses who can spoil us a lot of blood. We eliminate our enemies by fighting against them or making use of a wide range of white weapons. In addition, as we progress, we bring fallen animal heroes back to life, which we can then control, and we acquire a number of skills that increase our combat potential.
The game is unique, as the punches, dodges and moving around the board are performed here to the rhythm of techno music. In addition, the locations we visit are generated procedurally, which means that every time you start playing, you have to face slightly different challenges.
The graphic design of Rhythm Fighter was maintained in a colorful, cartoon-like style.

Rhythm Fighters is a fun and innovative roguelite which should keep you entertained for quite some time, affording you the opportunity to put your headphones in, sit back and relax to some funky beats while you beat up evil veg for laughs.

While I appreciate the crushing difficulty later in the game, it’s unfortunate that Rhythm Fighter equates “harder” with “more damage and cheap attacks”. It got to the point where if I ended up getting the Chonki boss (a literal chonky statue of a cat) after my second stage, I ended up resetting my run due to the fact that the boss’s move patterns are unpredictable and there’s barely an opening to hit back.
