Rock of Ages for PC, PS3 and X360 is a tower defense game that combines strategy and action game features. The title was developed by ACE Team – the creators of Zeno Clash.

Mechanics

Two players, each of whom has a castle, face each other. The gates of both castles are connected with a long and winding road. The gameplay is divided into two phases and in each of them the players have different roles. During each phase, one of them assumes the role of attacker and the other becomes the defender. The attacker directly controls a giant rocky ball which must be led under the enemy castle and used to break its gate. The defense consists of buying troops and buildings and positioning them in such way that the mentioned ball is stopped, thrown out of the road or at least slowed down. While attacking, the player is trying to avoid the obstacles and then in the next round he uses every method available to stop enemy offensive.
