Rush for the Bomb is the first official addition to the real-time strategy called Rush for Berlin. The Hungarian studio Stormregion is responsible for the production of the extension, with titles such as S.W.I.N.E. and the popular but controversial Codename: Panzers series. The action of the game takes us to the year 1942, in which the Americans who wanted to produce the world's first atomic bomb, started the implementation of the "Manhattan" project.

Meanwhile, according to the game scanners, German spies managed to steal plans to build an explosive, but they faced a big problem, which was to transport documents back to Berlin. It is up to the player to stand on the side of the Axis, helping to protect and transport important papers from neutral Spain to the capital of the Third Reich, or to choose a position closer to the Allies, trying at all costs to intercept files with dangerous plans and return them to the Americans.

Regardless of the choice we make, we have to prepare ourselves for a ruthless fight in two campaigns with a total of 24 missions (12 for Germans and Alliance countries). We carry out combat operations mostly in Europe, launching battles in regions such as the Iberian Peninsula and neighbouring Balearic Islands, or cold Norwegian fjords, where the semi-finished products necessary to create a nuclear bomb are created.

In order to recreate the secondary climate of the war, the programmers gave us a handful of new units at our disposal. Among the vehicles it is worth mentioning the prototype jet Horten Ho-229, the assault fighter Messerschmitt Bf-109, the diving bomber Junkers Ju 87 Stuka and tanks: M4 Sherman Calliope, KV-2, A-34 Comet and equipped with the flame thrower T-26. The introduction of novelties in terms of human resources was also taken care of. Rush for the Bomb contains three premiere types of officers (Mobile Infantry Officer, Feldkommandant, Military Intelligence Officer) with special skills that distinguish them from ordinary warriors. These commanders can, for example, automatically repair all allied machines, expose hidden tyre units or increase production efficiency in nearby factories.

The work of the Stormregion team can also boast customized audio-visual setting, as well as several online gameplay modes. They are designed for people who have already gained experience in the single campaign and want to taste new experiences in clashes with living opponents.
