S4U: Citypunk 2011 and Love Punch is an adventure game (largely text-based) in which we play as a girl leading a kind of double life. The game was developed by the independent studio UOU Games, while its release was handled by Gcores Publishing company.
The action of S4U: Citypunk 2011 and Love Punch takes place in 2011. The game takes us to the fictional city of Castor Yard and allows us to embody a heroine named Miki. The girl is both an architect and a kind of internet spokesperson, meeting with various people and conducting conversations on behalf of her clients. She earns a living this way.
Over time, Miki faces the necessity of making decisions that could allow her to find her place in the world. In Castor Yard, the protagonist is only held by memories, and to their disadvantage is the fact that she hid them in a photo album, to which she forgot the password. Moreover, there is nothing to prevent one of the acquaintances she made from eventually turning into the love of her life.
In S4U: Citypunk 2011 and Love Punch we spend most of our time in front of a virtual computer screen. During the game we accompany Miki in her daily life, carrying out architectural projects and having conversations with over 20 different characters.
Although we mainly control the game using the keyboard, it does not allow us to freely input text (with certain exceptions). Instead of randomly tapping keys, we type one of the predefined messages. The game allows us to switch between them using the backspace key.
We can have conversations with various people - a teenager, a businessman or even an artist. How our relationships with each of them will develop depends on our actions and the choices we make. Some of Miki's relationships can lead to a true love.
This is not everything, because from time to time Miki can leave her four walls. This is when the camera changes perspective from first-person to a side view. The protagonist can explore the surroundings and get to know the inhabitants, talk to them live or even buy a drink from a vending machine.
The graphic design of S4U: Citypunk 2011 and Love Punch was done in pixel art technique. The game is played to the accompaniment of a chiptune soundtrack.
