Fancy Factory is a one-man development studio from Germany. Operating under this name, creat?rca Axel Friedrich began releasing small games in 2008. Scott Whiskers: the Search for the Golden Cat is the second installment in a series of classic point & click adventures with a story axis revolving around cats. The independent production was developed thanks to crowdfunding.

Gameplay

Another humorous adventure of a specialist in finding rooftop cats takes place in Central America. In keeping with the tradition of the genre, the gameplay consists of exploring locations (of which there are about fifty), talking to NPCs and solving logic puzzles. The latter have to do with the sunken ruins of Maj?w, which requires our hero to travel underwater.

In Scott Whiskers: the Search for the Golden Cat we come to explore the wrecks of pirate ships, traverse the claustrophobic cave system of an active volcano, and even witness stories about exotic monstrous fleas. In addition to combining objects from the inventory as a result of out-of-the-box thinking, we par?cipate in passing mini-games.

The option of displaying so-called hotspots helps in collecting items for the backpack, while the logbook helps in following the storyline. The game is dubbed in English and German.

Storyline

Experienced in searching for missing cats, Scott Whiskers decides to find a figurine of a golden cat, whose twin reflection was considered a relic by the inhabitants of a Central American village. The vacationer must race against time as the volcanic area is haunted by various annoyances and calamities.

Technical issues

Developed on the Unity engine, Scott Whiskers: the Search for the Golden Cat features two-dimensional visuals, manifested in hand-drawn 2D backgrounds and characters rendered in tri-dimension.
