Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged is a remastered version of the first installment in an iconic series of point-and-click adventure games, originating from 1996. It was developed by Revolution Software, the same studio as the original game.

Plot

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged stars George Stobbart, an American tourist who witnesses a terrorist attack on a Parisian cafe. Not long after, he meets a local journalist, Nicole Collard. Together they investigate the matter, eventually uncovering the secrets of the titular order. This begins a long journey that takes them through all of Europe and the Middle East.

Mechanics

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged uses cinematic camera perspective. The gameplay doesn't differ much from other similar games. The player must traverse various locations and talk to NPCs, acquiring valuable information and clues. Puzzles also play an important role, tasking us with looking for items, using them in a specific way and interacting with the environment.

Technical aspects

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged features thoroughly revamped visuals. The backgrounds and animations have been drawn anew, and the resolution was increased up to 4K. The audio was also remastered, while the dialogue was re-recorded.
