Scribblenauts Remix, released on AND and iOS, is a special edition of a very original logic game from the Nintendo DS. Developed by 5TH Cell studio, the title combines the content of the original from 2009 and its sequel, Super Scribblenauts, released a year later.
Our task in Scribblenauts Remix is to help the main character, Maxwell, to get the stars which will help him pass to the next stage. The problem is that they are usually located in seemingly inaccessible places, requiring us to think about how we can reach them. However, the protagonist does not have any fancy gadgets or special abilities, but only a seemingly simple notepad with unusual properties. After writing the name of any object in it, that object materializes in the game world. We can use it to solve a given puzzle.
The original mechanics of the game allow for a lot of creativity, and each of the subsequent stages can be passed in many different ways, using different methods and objects. Of course, you can go for an easy search and choose the simplest possible solution, but the built-in dictionary allows us to use fancy and often completely abstract creations. Compared to the original Scribblenauts, we can use not only nouns, but also one or more adjectives (mechanism introduced in Super Scribblenauts) to materialize objects.
The basic version of Scribblenauts Remix contains a total of 50 different levels, consisting of 40 levels from the titles released on Nintendo DS and 10 brand new ones prepared for this edition. It is also possible to buy a special season pass, which gives access to future expansions with new levels.
