Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter

Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter is a special edition of i>Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, designed for VR sets. Like the original, the title was developed by Croatian studio Croteam.

Story

The action of Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter takes place right after the events presented in the first installment of the series. Protagonist's mount, SSS Centerprice spacecraft, crashes on the surface of the Earth, namely in Central America from the Mayan era. In search of an emergency vessel, Sam must not only cross the south American jungle, but also ancient Mesopotamia and finally medieval Europe.

Mechanics

Like the earlier installment of the series, Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter is an FPS that focuses on exploration (which is important as there are more than a hundred and thirty secrets waiting to be discovered) and eliminating hordes of enemies, led by massive bosses. In addition to the extensive arsenal from the first installment of the series, the devs give us a number of new tools for murder, such as a flamethrower, a chainsaw, or a sniper rifle. What's interesting, during the spectacular destruction we can use two of the same guns at the same time. In addition, the devs enabled us not only to move smoothly around the environment but also to use a teleportation system.

Game modes

In addition to the single-player campaign, Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter offers a whole range of multiplayer modes. The modes are based on competition (Instant Kill, Capture the Flag, Last Man Standing, Last Team Standing, My Burden, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch), designed for up to sixteen players, as well as co-op modes for twelve people (Beast Hunt, Team Beast Hunt, Survival, Team Survival).

Technical aspects

Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter requires VR goggles and dedicated motion controllers (although we can also play using a mouse and keyboard).
