SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow is a major expansion for SimCity. It was developed by the creators of the original game, Maxis Studios, whose portfolio include such titles as Spore and The Sims series. The production takes the players 50 years forward, which obviously means completely new environment, buildings, technology and looks.
The expansion focuses on new technology, which significantly enriches the playing experience. The players get a number of technological novelties at their disposal, as well as new means of transportation and other curios, too. Mega-towers, divided into a few segments, are one of the biggest changes. Each segment may be responsible for something totally different, thanks to which one construction of this kind can consist of industrial, residential and other spaces. Therefore we build not only on the ground itself, but also in the buildings we erect.
Cities of Tomorrow introduces new means of transportation, as well. While cars still require roads to be driven, our citizens can now travel by magnetic trains. Moreover, our metropolis also makes use of special drones (medical, supply and so on).
Furthermore, we have to develop technologies that reduce environmental pollution because of OmegaCo plants that produce dangerous chemicals.
SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow offers a new graphics style, full of colorful neon lights and futuristic buildings.
