Espionage is the second add-on to the fifth game in the Tropico series currently owned by Haemimont Games. Surveilling the public, controlling the secret services and the army are some of the expansion's main new features. Espionage introduces nine new buildings to the game, among which we will find the Spy Academy, Mechanized Garrison, Dungeons, and Security Checkpoints. They will all come in handy in the new single player campaign, The Maltese Toucan. It consists of six missions, in which we try to defend a certain treasure and deal with numerous revolts and acts of sabotage. The expansion introduces four new islands on which we can create our country and a set of new events and quests that await us in the sandbox mode. Some new details, such as the new costumes and accessories for El Presidente, are also present. The game's soundtrack has also been enriched with new tracks.

Strategy

The first large expansion pack to the economic strategy game Tropico 5. The expansion introduces the possibility to take advantage of waters which – although present in the series since the beginning – weren’t exploited before. The expansion features a six-level story campaign during which el Presidente is fighting for power on land and on the sea. He can use nine new buildings and units (including floating apartments and military submarines). The political situation can be sent to the bottom by random events like water traffic blockade. The player can use four new islands and two new avatars with accessories.
