End of Life: September 1, 2022
A space shooter for VR goggles. The player assumes the role of a warrior taking part in the murderous competition called Dirty Bowl.
Space Junkies is an arcade shooter. The game requires VR goggles – HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. The title was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, also known for e.g. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
During the game, you take part in the murderous competition Dirty Bowl happening in space. You assume the role of an elite warrior in a special suit, and fight 2v2 or 1v1 battles. Gameplay consists in shooting enemies with futuristic weapons (e.g. Sunblaster and Biogun). In contrast to other shooters, in Space Junkies, you can move in any direction, as combat takes place in zero gravity. The space arena – called the Orena – enables the players to dodge bullets, glide, dive, flank, and shoot while moving backwards. All that in 360 degrees.
In Space Junkies, you fight on special arenas with additional environment elements, such as meteorites which can be used for your advantage or can be simply destroyed. The game utilises physics that feature microgravity along with unique sounds that let you feel as an astronaut leaving their spaceship.

Game Ratings for Space Junkies Video Game.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 6 / 10 by Paulmichael Contreras
Space Junkies is a fun arena-style shooter, with an unfortunate control scheme. The addition of cross-platform play helps to get a game going, at the expense of any sort of balance. PC players have the advantage of a much better control scheme. Move controller compatibility would go a long way towards rectifying this, even if it's still not an ideal control mechanism. As a technical showcase, Space Junkies looks and attempts to play as a fast-paced arena shooter, and it mostly gets that part right. It's just a shame the controls get in the way on console, making the PSVR version feel lesser.

Space Junkies has the foundations of a great game, but does it have enough legs to rocket through post launch?
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Christian Kobza
Space Junkies is an incredibly competent multiplayer arena shooter that dodges the VR matchmaking bullet by flexing its cross-play capabilities, but it suffers from inadequate implementation. There's plenty of bullet-blasting action to keep you engaged, but the limited control options only let you partake in a fraction of the fun when compared to your PC brethren.
