Game mechanics

In Spacelines from the Far Out we observe the action from a top-down view. The game takes place on board of our spaceship, on which we travel through interstellar space carrying various passengers.

The space is procedurally generated, and the number of obstacles we have to face on the way and interesting or useful places, which often make us deviate from our course, makes you dizzy. Among them we'll find asteroids, between which we have to maneuver, refueling stations, which we have to visit from time to time in order not to get stuck in the cosmic void, or even stops, where we leave selected tourists and take others. Additionally, the matter is complicated by passengers who have their own personalities, behaviors and desires. The task is also made more difficult by the fact that piloting the ship involves the need to constantly run around the deck and operate the equipment scattered around it.

All this means that journeys through the Universe are never peaceful; in fact, they are truly chaotic. Nevertheless, it is worth the effort to deliver the passengers to their destination in one piece; they will not fail to give us good marks, which in turn will encourage other space travelers to use our services. And if they are not satisfied with us... well, then we have to reckon with the possibility of a visit from the dreaded inspector, who, upon discovering a gross number of health and safety violations, may even shut our company down.

However, we must be of good mind, especially that our actions are supervised by AI, which constantly adjusts the level of difficulty to how we are doing. It is also worth remembering that the more successful courses we do, the faster the amount of money on our account grows. We can spend the accumulated funds on developing the company, and above all - on buying new ships and various improvements. In addition, as we progress, we unlock various cosmetic additions, such as logos and color schemes, as well as new characters, which we can take on.

Game modes

Spacelines from the Far Out was designed to be played in cooperative mode (over the Internet or on a shared screen), but the title also allows you to play solo.

Technical aspects

Spacelines from the Far Out features simple, yet colorful and clear graphics. It is maintained in a light, cartoonish style evoking associations with the Kerbal Space Program series. During the game we can listen to climatic, jazz soundtrack.
